Job Summary
We’re seeking an experienced CNC CAD/CAM Programmer to join our precision sheet metal fabrication team. This role involves programming CNC machines, interpreting blueprints, and optimizing production processes using CAD/CAM software. Ideal candidates will have expertise in CNC punch press and laser programming, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Program CNC Machines: Develop and maintain CNC programs for parts, ensuring up-to-date file revisions.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Create flat pattern layouts from engineering blueprints for sheet metal parts.
- Collaborate with Engineers: Work with clients’ engineers to ensure manufacturability.
- Reverse Engineering: Reverse-engineer parts for manufacturing.
- Tool Selection: Choose the most cost-effective machine and tooling options.
- Work Instructions: Prepare standardized work instructions and setup sheets.
- Optimize Processes: Use CAD/CAM software to improve programming and runtime efficiency.
Experience & Skills
- Fast-Paced Environment: Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Technical Expertise: Experience programming CNC punch presses and lasers for sheet metal fabrication.
- Mathematics & Problem Solving: Strong skills in math and critical thinking for technical issues.
- Time Management: Strong organizational and task prioritization skills.
- Engineering Background: Mechanical aptitude and engineering experience are a plus.
Technical Requirements
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience programming CNC punch presses. CNC laser programming is a plus.
- Software: Proficient in SolidWorks (required), CAMWorks (required), and SigmaNEST (preferred).
- CNC Programming: Knowledge of G-codes and the ability to write, edit, and troubleshoot programs.
Equipment & Software
- Machines: Amada Fiber Laser, Turret Punch Press, Mazak Laser
- Software: Amada Dr ABE, Sheetworks, TekSoft, SolidWorks
